„The spirit is a garden.“ Not only Victor Hugo knew this, Enzo Enea inspires with his mindset and his impressing work every day people all over the world. As an industrial designer, Enzo Enea studied landscape architecture in London and then traveled to Brazil and Hawaii, where he designed his first major landscape project for a Sheraton hotel. Enzo Enea received numerous gold and silver awards at the Giardina fairs in Basel and Zurich. In 1998 he gets also the Newcomer Prize at the renowned Chelsea Flower Show in London. The creative concept of Enea landscape architecture includes in particular the merging of outdoor and indoor, the creative connection of the interior of a house with its exterior.
In 2010, the tree museum, set in a breathtakingly beautiful 75,000 m2 park near the Zurich Obersee in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland, officially opened its doors to visitors. It shows a large number of selected trees from the collection of the Swiss landscape architect and world-renowned tree collector Enzo Enea.
The museum pays respect to its unique aesthetics, sustainability, history and vital function of trees. The Eneas tree collection consists exclusively of species from our climate zone. With this tree museum, Enzo Enea has implemented his vision for the first time and carefully combined landscape, botany, architecture, art and design. The museum has over 50 trees from over 25 species, some of which are over 100 years old, creating an aura of immortality. Another 100 trees and plants are in the park, which encloses the tree museum. There are more than 3000 exclusive trees on the entire Enea landscape.
