Few fashion houses in the world know of a 100-year family tradition. Akris is the only Swiss fashion company present at Paris Fashion Week and stands out with clear lines, tangible fabric innovations and surprising themes. The timelessly modern designs thrive on Creative Director Albert Kriemler’s dialogue with art and architecture, with photographers and filmmakers. Thanks to his keen sense of materials, cut and colour, even extraordinary creations seem quite „natural“.

The brand’s distinctive features are trapezoidal design elements derived from the „A“, for example on the clasps of bags and belts. The exhibition presents the worlds of inspiration of the international St. Gallen fashion house and provides an insight into the sophisticated craft or technical processes behind the collections.

The company produces the double-face pieces and the ten sample collections in Mendrisio in the canton of Ticino, and the remaining pieces, including the sportswear line Akris Punto, which has existed since 1996, in Romania. They have been sold at Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom since the 1980s and 1990s. In 1996, the first Akris boutiques opened in Paris and Boston. Since 2010, among other things, The Swiss designer Claudia Caviezel also works for Akris.
